Tajikistan as acceded to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (the “Apostille Convention”).
Pursuant to the Apostille Convention, for UK documents to be accepted in Tajikistan an Apostille should be affixed by the UK Government.
The Apostille is the UK Government’s confirmation that a public official’s signature, seal or stamp on a document is genuine.
The Govenment body that affixes Apostilles onto documents in the UK is the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, known as “the FCO”. There are two legalisation offices in England, one in Milton Keynes and the other in London.
